• Pituitary: (Master gland) Control growth and regulate other glands
  • Below thalamus.
• Pineal: Secrete melatonin, control circadian rhythms and regulate reproductive hormones.
  • <1cm long, near the center of the brain.
• Thyroid: Regulate metabolism. Uses iodine.
  • Small butterfly w/ 5cm wingspan, in neck below Adam's apple.
• Parathyroid: Regulate calcium levels.
  • Below thyroid.
• Thymus: Children's immune system - produce white blood cells, disappear after puberty.
  • Between lungs and behind sternum (breastbone).
• Adrenals: Regulate mood, energy, cope with stress (secrete epinephrine).
  • Top of kidney
• Pancreas: Digestive and endocrine functions.
  • Under stomach
  • Islets of Langerhans: Produce insulin to control glucose levels (control obesity).
• Ovaries/Testes: Produce sexual hormones
