- Pituitary: (Master gland) Control growth and regulate other glands
- Pineal: Secrete melatonin, control circadian rhythms and regulate reproductive hormones.
- <1cm long, near the center of the brain.
- Thyroid: Regulate metabolism. Uses iodine.
- Small butterfly w/ 5cm wingspan, in neck below Adam's apple.
- Parathyroid: Regulate calcium levels.
- Thymus: Children's immune system - produce white blood cells, disappear after puberty.
- Between lungs and behind sternum (breastbone).
- Adrenals: Regulate mood, energy, cope with stress (secrete epinephrine).
- Pancreas: Digestive and endocrine functions.
- Under stomach
- Islets of Langerhans: Produce insulin to control glucose levels (control obesity).
- Ovaries/Testes: Produce sexual hormones
